Sony Plans To Release 'The Interview,' North Korea Threatens Strikes

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Sony Pictures now says it does plan to release "The Interview."

The movie company canceled the film's Christmas Day release following threats from hackers believed to be in North Korea.

Sony said the movie's release is delayed and not completely shelved.

"We have not caved, we have not given in, we have persevered and we have not backed down," Sony Pictures CEO Michael Lynton said.

There is no word on when Sony plans to release the movie.

North Korea denies any involvement in the massive cyber attack and is threatening strikes against the U.S. if the finger-pointing continues.

The movie stars James Franco and Seth Rogen who play journalists tasked by the CIA to assassinate North Korea leader Kim Jong Un.
