2 Dead, 2 Injured In Hicksville Crash

HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Two drivers are dead and two passengers injured following a multiple-vehicle crash on Long Island.

A 26-year-old driver in a Volkswagen was exiting a parking lot when he collided with a 17-year-old driver in an Acura headed westbound on Old Country Road in Hicksville, Nassau County homicide detectives said.

The accident happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The collision sent one of the vehicles into a nearby Toyota. That driver was not hurt.

The driver of the Volkswagen was ejected from the car and was possibly hit by a fourth vehicle, police said. He was pronounced dead. The Acura driver struck a tree and was killed.

Two male passengers in the Volkswagen -- ages 24 and 26 -- were hospitalized.

None of the victims were immediately identified.

The investigation is ongoing.
