Suffolk Police: Bellport Man Arrested For DWI After Critically Injuring Woman In Coram

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Bellport, Long Island man faces driving while intoxicated charges after hitting and critically injuring a woman in Coram, Suffolk County police said.

The incident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night on Fife Drive, police said.

That's when Floyd Patterson's car hit an unidentified woman, police said. The woman was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was listed early Thursday in critical condition.

Patterson, 56, is due to be arraigned in First District Court Thursday.
