New York Jets Injury Report: Harvin, Mangold Questionable

By Tyson Rauch

The New York Jets (3-12) enter Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins (8-7) as a team battered and bruised with several prominent players listed as questionable.

Mangold, Harvin game time decisions

On Friday New York Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan labeled both Nick Mangold and Percy Harvin as game time decisions for Sunday. Mangold, the anchor of New York's offensive line, is dealing with a serious ankle injury that he suffered last week against the New England Patriots. If Mangold is unable to play, second year center Dalton Freeman will take over for the Jets Pro-Bowler. Freeman filled in admirably for the veteran center last week and should receive help calling out line assignments from veteran guard Willie Colon.

Wide Receiver Percy Harvin continues to fight through injuries as he is now trying to overcome a rib injury in addition to an ankle sprain. Harvin will most likely get removed from return duties with T.J. Graham handling the responsibility on kickoffs. On offense, Jeremy Kerley could slide into Percy's role if the dynamic pass catcher is unable to handle a heavy workload.

Questions in the secondary

The New York Jets secondary is dealing with several injury issues as Dawan Landry, Jaiquawn Jarrett, and Darrin Walls are listed as questionable. With Landry and Jarrett limited, the starting tandem at safety will most likely be Antonio Allen and Calvin Pryor. At the defensive back position Marcus Williams will remain the starter, with Phillip Adams and Kyle Wilson sharing reps on the opposite side. In terms of depth, the Jets may have to bring up a player or two (Keith Lewis, Dashaun Phillips) from the practice squad as the secondary has become completely decimated by injuries.
