12/28 CBS2 Sunday Morning Weather Headlines
By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Good Sunday morning everybody! It's gonna be a mostly cloudy day with occasional light rain across the area. Not anything serious in terms of totals, just enough to put a slight damper on weekend spirits. Still not too bad with a high around 50.
Monday looks like a sunny day for the city and points north, while folks down on the Jersey Shore will see more clouds and perhaps a few sprinkles. It'll be cooler with a high of only 42 in the city. We're monitoring a few pieces of energy pass well to our south Monday night/Tuesday. As of now it looks like everything stays south, but it's still a bit close for comfort. Some folks south of NYC could get a few flurries or brief snow showers. Tuesday is even cooler with highs only in the mid 30s.
The critical New Year's forecast? Good news and bad news - it will be dry, but it will also be cold! Temps at midnight only in the upper 20s with chills in the teens. We start off 2015 with sunshine and a high of 36.
