Rutgers TE Tyler Kroft Passing Up Final Year Of Eligibility, Entering NFL Draft

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Rutgers tight end Tyler Kroft is passing up his final year of eligibility to enter the NFL draft.

The Downingtown, PA native made the announcement on Tuesday, saying he did not make the decision lightly and only with feedback from pro scouts.

After leading Rutgers in receptions (43) and receiving yardage (573) in 2013, the fourth-year junior saw his numbers slip to 24 catches for 269 yards and no touchdowns.

Kroft finished his Scarlet Knights' career with 70 catches for 901 yards and five touchdowns. He hopes to get his degree this spring.
