1/7 CBS2 Wednesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis, CBS2 Weather Producer/Meteorologist

Winds will strengthen through this afternoon... gusts of 40 mph... making it only feel like 0 to 10°! A few snow squalls may pass through as well, just so you're not caught off guard.

Winds will persist into the evening hours, relaxing only slightly into the overnight. That said, it's going to turn brutally cold after sunset as we see wind chills dip to subfreezing levels ... about -10° in NYC and -25° N&W by sunrise!

There will be plenty of sun tomorrow, but we'll continue to struggle in the temperature department with highs only near 20°; wind chills will only peak around 10°.

Friday features a few flurries or snow showers in the morning with highs in the low 30s. And if we reach the freezing mark, it will be the first time since Monday!

On Saturday we return to the 20s, but expect a good amount of sunshine.

Check back for more details on the big chill! Stay bundled!
