1/8: CBS2 Thursday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

The remainder of the afternoon is looking bright, but bitterly cold. By the late afternoon, temps should get to near 20° with a wind chill around 10°. Stay warm!

We'll see steady or rising temps into tonight with the approach of our next system. Expect an increase in clouds (especially late tonight) with the chance of some snow showers N&W as we head towards daybreak.

Light snow and snow showers are in store for the rush tomorrow morning... wrapping up by the late morning hours. Total snow accumulations will be anywhere from a dusting to 1+". It will be a little breezy again, so while temperatures will return to the freezing mark for the first time since Monday, wind chills will only be 10-20°.

It's nothing but sunshine and bitterly cold temps again on Saturday as another very cold air mass settles in -- briefly.

Highs will struggle to get out of the low 20s, and with a breeze still in place, it will only feel like 0-10°.

Sunday features more cloud cover, but for those in need of a break, we'll see temps return to freezing and then some.
