NYPD: Man Punches 11-Year-Old Girl, Steals Her Phone And Bag

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who they said punched an 11-year-old girl in the face before stealing her belongings in the Bronx.

It happened around 8 p.m. on Dec. 18 at the corner of East 187th Street and Bathgate Avenue.

The man walked up to the girl, punched her in the face and then took her cell phone and book bag, police said. The girl refused medical attention.

The suspect was seen on surveillance video before the incident.

Police describe him as a 25-year-old black man, about 5'10" and weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing a black and gray jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt.
