1/9 CBS2 Friday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

It's looking much better the remainder of the day as sunshine makes a comeback. It will still be breezy out there... and with our high of only about 32° -- again, hasn't felt this warm since Monday -- it will only feel like 20° at best.

Polar air returns tonight... low of about 16° with a wind chill bottoming out around 0°... and sticks around tomorrow... high of only about 22° with a peak wind chill around 10°. But skies will be mainly clear during the period, so expect nothing but starlit skies and sunshine.

We'll see a little bump in the temps on Sunday as we lose our grip on the polar air mass. We should be able to work our way back up to the freezing mark... perhaps a degree or two warmer. And there will be a few more clouds in the mix, but don't expect any precipitation.

We're keeping an eye on our next system that will push through Monday into Monday night. As of now, it looks like it will deliver a mixed bag of precipitation to the tri-state... will refine the forecast for you in the coming days.

Have a good weekend and stay warm.
