Police: Man Held Knife To Woman, Robbed Her In Yorktown Kmart Parking Lot

YORKTOWN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in northern Westchester County were searching Friday for a suspect who robbed a woman at knifepoint in a Kmart parking lot.

A woman told Yorktown police that a man forced himself into her car in the parking lot of the Kmart at 355 Downing Dr. in Yorktown, police told CBS2.

The man a knife to the woman and demanded money, police said. She had just withdrawn cash from an ATM and handed over $240, police said.

The woman was slightly injured by the knife and was treated and released at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt, police said.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned black male standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall and light pockmarks on his cheeks, according to a Journal News report. He was last seen wearing a gray parka with fur around the hood, and black beanie hat, the newspaper reported.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect.
