1/18 CBS2 Sunday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning! It's cold out there right now, but that will change as we head through the day. That being said, you'll want to leave extra time if you're heading out early this morning. Some folks will see some spotty freezing drizzle/rain. Nothing major, but it could make for slick roadways.

Heading through the morning, a soaking rain will develop and be around through much of the day; 1-2" of rain possible. Temps will reach the mid/upper 40s. Rain looks like it's outta here by 9-11 p.m. Some flurries may fly far north/west of NYC as the cold front crosses through late tonight.

For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, it'll be a few degrees cooler with gradual clearing and a cool northwest breeze of 15-20mph. Tuesday will feature more sunshine early with highs closer to normal - 39 in NYC - and late day clouds ahead of some light snow showers Tuesday night-Wednesday. More on that to come!
