1/20 CBS2 Tuesday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening, all!

A few flakes and drops just passed some of us in the Tri-State. It could make for a few slick spots during your evening commute.

Tonight, temps drop pretty low.  We should drop down into the mid-20s in the city, low 20s and upper teens north and west.

Clouds float in Wednesday morning and continue to fill throughout the day until some snow arrives in the afternoon. The better bet for some shovel-worthy snow would be down the shore. Generally, we're expecting a coating to 2"; closer to the coating for most north of Middlesex County. Again, some communities down the Jersey shore are likely to see more.

This is an interesting clipper system. A low develops offshore and basically steals the energy from any snow that would potentially hit closer to NYC. Another system is nearing the coast for Saturday. It has a bit more kick to it so we'll watch how it develops.  Check back in soon for an update!
