1/20 CBS2 Tuesday Morning Weather Headlines
By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Morning everyone!
A fairly seasonal day is in store for us. Temps will top off in the upper 30s today under a partly to mostly sunny sky.
Clouds will fill in overnight and spread over the area by mid-morning Wednesday. Clouds will continue to thicken as the advertised Alberta Clipper slides across the Ohio River Valley towards the coast.
This storm has a little more punch than the last one. We received about 1.5 inches from the last clipper. This time, I'm thinking 1 to 2 inches, with some getting close to 3 inches -- just because of the track alone, and this one has more moisture.
Any time a storm collides with the warmer ocean, the possibility for increased totals arises. But clippers are quick movers, and it's rare than any of these storms have 5+ inches of snow available in the upper levels of the atmosphere.
By Thursday afternoon, the skies clear and colder temps are drawn in. Friday is a bright blue finish to the week.
The weekend looks milder as of now! Check back in shortly for an update on Wednesday.
