The homicide in Midtown has prompted Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce to ask the public for help in identifying suspects in other homicides across the city, including a marijuana-related robbery in Brooklyn and argument over a woman on Staten Island that both ended in homicide.

Shootings city-wide have increased 19 percent over the same period last year, WCBS 880's Marla Diamond reported.
