Yonkers Police Officer Shoots Cop From Pelham Manor
YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) - The Yonkers police commissioner says one of his officers has shot and wounded an off-duty and apparently distraught officer from another suburban force.
Pelham Manor Officer Ken Campion finished his shift in Pelham Manor at 4 p.m., and at 9:30 p.m., was found by officers sitting on the baseball field in Redmond Park with a handgun in his possession, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported.

Commissioner Charles Gardner said Campion moved in a way that made the officers fear for their safety. Officer Remy Susini shot Campion, grazing his chest and hitting his arm.
Gardner said the 47-year-old seemed suicidal and after a brief conversation, a Yonkers officer felt threatened, moving in a way that made the officers fear for their safety, and fired one shot.

The Yonkers officers then provided medical help and Campion was taken to a local trauma center.
Gardner says Campion is expected to recover.
The commissioner says he believes the use of force was appropriate but an investigation is underway.
Campion is a 25-year veteran of the Pelham Manor Department.
