1/24: CBS2 Saturday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Another weekend, another round of wintry precip...this time, we had more snow than ice/rain. Some spots in the area picked up as much as 9" of snow! Thing will clear out tonight, but with temps falling below freezing, black ice will be a big concern. With all the moisture on the ground from today's storm, expect plenty of slick spots overnight/early tomorrow.

Evening Lows Map

Sunday looks to be a decent day, just chilly, with temps right around normal - mid/upper 30s around town. It'll be a temporary break from the action as we expect an unsettled start to the work week. Monday, looks like a clipper will move through bringing more snow, but it looks to be light. Perhaps a coating to a few inches. It will be much colder on Monday with highs only hitting 27 in NYC...

Evening Surface Map

...And then we are facing the chance of a bigger storm Monday night/Tuesday. Not going to mention any specifics just yet, but this could end up bringing significant snow for eastern portions of the Tri-State Area. It will be another frigid day Tuesday with highs only reaching 25 in NYC and wind chills in the single digits/teens - YIKES!

Check back later for the newest info on our wintry stretch!
