De Blasio Responds To The Onion's Lampoon By Delivering Dramatic Reading Of Blizzard Forecast
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Much has been made of the decision to shut down New York's roads and subways ahead of the storm that wound up having much less of an impact on New York City than expected.
Mayor Bill de Blasio has been the target of criticism but has defended the decisions officials made ahead of the storm.
Satirical news website The Onion lampooned the mayor for his dire storm warnings in an online article.
De Blasio was apparently tickled by the article.
"It's so brilliant I had to do a reading of it," de Blasio said.
"The furious hoarfrost bearing down upon us knows neither mercy nor reason, and all within the five boroughs will perish, cowering in their brittle dwellings," de Blasio read, quoting from the fake article.
