Man, 9-Year-Old Girl Rescued From Icy Lake In Asbury Park
ASBURY PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A man and a 9-year-old girl were rescued Wednesday from a melting lake in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
Photos posted to Facebook by the Asbury Park fire department showed firefighters using a sled to pull the girl and the 41-year-old man back to dry land.
They had been stranded on an island in Sunset Lake near Fifth Avenue and Bond Street, and called for help after walking onto the ice just before dark.
Both were assisted onto the shore without incident, the fire department said.
