1/30 CBS2 Friday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Hello, everyone!

Tonight is going to be brutal. Temps are falling off the thermometer as we speak and a very strong northwest wind is kicking in. It's currently around the freezing mark but expect temps to fall.

At midnight, the temps fall around the zero mark in NYC. North and west of the city...forget it. Temps will plunge into the negative integers. It's actually going to be so cold that the NWS has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for dangerous conditions.

NYC and the surrounding boroughs are under a Wind Advisory. Gusts are expected to rise near 50 mph overnight!

The winds do back off by tomorrow afternoon.  Clouds fill in for Sunday ahead of our next system.  By 2-3 p.m., clouds overtake the Tri-State west to east.  When you're leaving your Super Bowl party, some snow could make your ride home dangerous.
