NYPD: Man Propositioned, Attempted To Rape Woman In Crown Heights

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police in Brooklyn are looking for a man who tried to sexually assault a woman in Crown Heights early Monday.

The NYPD released a sketch of the man who they say tried to rape a 32-year-old woman on Troy Avenue and Park Place around 3 a.m.

He allegedly offered to pay the woman for sex and when she refused, he attacked her, pushing her to the ground.

The woman was able to break away and was not injured.

The suspect is said to be in his 30s, approximately 6 feet tall and around 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black skull cap, black hoodie, black pants, black waist-length North Face jacket and headphones.

Police say the suspect speaks with an African accent.
