Commuter Alert: Service Changes On 15 Subway Lines This Weekend

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Better take a look at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority website before heading out to the subways this weekend.

The MTA has planned service changes on 15 of its subway lines.

This weekend's changes are part of a massive capital construction project underway, CBS2 reported.

According to the MTA's website, there is no No. 3 train service this weekend and the No. 2 train is not running between Third Avenue-149th Street and 96th Street. Free shuttle buses are being provided through 5 a.m. Monday.

No. 4 trains have replaced No. 3 train service in Brooklyn, making local stops between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and New Lots Avenue.

There is no No. 5 train service between East 180th Street and Bowling Green. Free shuttle buses are being provided.

Brooklyn Bridge-bound No. 6 trains are running express from Parkchester to Hunts Point Avenue, while Pelham Bay Park-bound trains are not stopping at 23 Street, 28 Street and 33 Street.

Service has been suspended on the No. 7 line between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street. The 7 line is operating between Main Street and Queensboro Plaza. The MTA said E, F, N, Q, R, S trains and free shuttle buses are providing alternate service.

On the E line, World Trade Center-bound trains are making local stops at 67th Avenue, 63 Drive, Woodhaven Boulevard, Grand Avenue and Elmhurst Avenue. World Trade Center-bound trains are also skipping 23rd Street and Spring Street. Jamaica Center-bound E trains are skipping 75th Avenue and Van Wyck Boulevard.

The Euclid Avenue-bound C train skips 50th Street, 23rd Street and Spring Street. The MTA urges customers to allow extra time for travel as the C line will only run every 15 minutes.

No A trains will run between Rockaway Boulevard and Lefferts Boulevard. Service is running between 207 St and Howard Beach-JFK Airport/Mott Avenue. Howard Beach/Far Rockaway-bound trains will skip 88th Street and Rockaway Boulevard. Free shuttle buses are being provided.

Coney Island-bound F trains are making local stops at 67th Avenue, 63rd Drive, Woodhaven Boulevard, Grand Avenue and Elmhurst Avenue. Coney Island-bound F trains are express from Smith-9th Streets to Neptune Avenue. Jamaica-bound F trains are running via the E line after 47-50 Streets to Roosevelt Avenue. Jamaica-bound F trains will skip 75th Avenue, Van Wyck Boulevard and Sutphin Boulevard.

Coney Island-bound D trains are running via the N line from 36th Street to Stillwell Avenue. No Coney Island-bound service at 9 Avenue, Fort Hamilton Parkway, 50, 55, 71, 79 Streets, 18, 20 Avenues, Bay Parkway, 25 Avenue and Bay 50 Street.

L train service is suspended between 14 Street-Union Square and 8 Avenue. M14 buses provide alternate service. Service is running between Rockaway Parkway and 14 Street-Union Square.

Q service has been extended to Ditmars Boulevard. Service operates between Stillwell Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard.
