Carmelo Anthony On Dolan's Email: 'I Wouldn't Go Down That Path'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Carmelo Anthony can relate to Knicks owner James Dolan, who has come under scrutiny for sending a nasty email to a fan.

"We all have those moments," the eight-time NBA All-Star told reporters on Monday.

But Melo certainly doesn't condone his boss' behavior.

"For me, I would never respond," Anthony said. "I wouldn't go down that path. We all have those moments you just want to get … you feel a certain way, but people are saying things that aren't the real thing. We all have those moments."

Anthony, the face of the franchise, has had his share of run-ins with agitated fans, and it seems that he's learned from his past mistakes.

And he'll have to continue to weather the storm as the 10-41 Knicks slog through the rest of their nightmarish season.

It isn't easy for Anthony to handle.

KEIDEL: DOLAN'S UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR RESEMBLES THAT OF A SOCIAL MEDIA TROLL

"I said this earlier in the year," the 2013 NBA scoring champion said. "It's frustrating for the fans, for me, for us, for the team. I get the frustration coming from the fans … But we're the ones going through it, too, and we have to deal with it, too. We have to come to work every day and play hard and stay focused whether we're winning or losing.

"Yeah, I feel for the fans. They're the ones who spend the money and one of the reasons we're able to do what we do. But I want them to know we're going through the same thing."

Anthony was inactive on Saturday night when the Knicks lost to the Warriors at the Garden. He's expected to play on Monday night against the Heat.
