NYC Food Truck Lunch: Eddie's Favorite From Eddie's Pizza Truck

Perry, the founder of New York Street Food, brings you his latest review on New York City street food.

One of the old-timers in the NYC food truck world is Eddie's Pizza Truck. They have been around for over 3 years, which makes them one of the pioneers.

It's been a while since we've been to Eddie's, and were in the mood for lots of meat. Eddie must have similar tastes to us because Eddie's Favorite is a carnivore's delight. It costs $11.50 for a personal 10" pie and $18.50 for a large 16" pie.

Eddie's has several types of pizza pies on the menu, but you can also put together your own pie with the usual toppings. If you want an Italian sandwich instead of pizza, Eddie's has six different sandwiches ranging from $7-$9.50.

The pizza at Eddie's has a very thin crust. This helps it cook quickly in the oven, which is important on these cold winter days. Each pizza is made to order, but the waiting time was only around 5 minutes.

Eddie's Favorite was topped with sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, bell peppers, onions and mushrooms. We call this a "garbage pie", but understand why a proprietor would not want to call it that.

We also added some hot pepper flakes and grated parmesan, which were available at the truck, as were garlic powder and dried oregano.

Lunch from Eddie's Pizza Truck was enjoyable. With all the toppings, it was amazing the crust held together, but it did. The pepperoni and hot pepper flakes added a little kick, and there was even enough cheese for our taste, which is rare.

You can find Eddie's Pizza Truck on Twitter here, on Facebook here, and their website is here.
