2/15 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia

Good Afternoon!

The snow is outta here and attention now turns to whats left behind for us ... brutal cold! In fact, some locations will be seeing the coldest air of the past 20 years! The big story for the remainder of today will be the winds. Expect gusts of 50-60 mph at times, which will make it feel like below zero out there.

Temps continue to tumble as we head into this evening. Tonight and into tomorrow will feature dangerous wind chills! By sunrise tomorrow morning, we're expecting to hit our overnight low of just 3 degrees in the city, but with strong northwest winds, it will feel more like 10 degrees BELOW zero! In the suburbs, low temps will dive into the negatives, with wind chills as low as -35 degrees far north and west. Stay inside if you can, as frostbite will be a major concern with this cold. If you must be outside, be sure to limit your time and cover up any exposed skin!

Highs tomorrow will struggle to reach the upper teens in the city. That really doesn't matter, though, as it'll feel well below zero for Presidents' Day. BRRRR!!

We warm up for Tuesday ... yup, a balmy 27 degrees! And whether we like it or not, the latest models suggest our next round of snow moving in just in time for Tuesday morning's commute. If you're looking for spring, well you may have to wait a little longer. Looks like we're stuck in this pattern as we head into the second half of February.

Be sure to check back in soon for the latest on this arctic blast and our next shot at some snow. Stay warm folks!
