Boomer & Carton: Melo Calling Shots, Maccagnan Gonna Spend And Some Dirty BBQ

Thursday's Open

Carmelo Anthony has officially shut it down and could be out of commission anywhere from four to six months while he recovers from surgery on his ailing knee.

Well, that part about Melo possibly missing up to a half-year caught many off guard, including the Dynamic Radio Duo of Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton, so it was there that Thursday's fun began.

The guys are in agreement that this puts on display just how selfish Carmelo -- whose motives appear far from pure -- actually is and Boomer's belief that the Knicks foster a culture of elitist entitlement is tough to argue with.

There was some good news discussed as well.  Good for Jets fan at least, as new GM Mike Maccagnan indicated that he plans on being very active in free agency and Gang Green has about $50 million or so to spend.  After hearing that, Craig wants to take his man Mikey Mac out to celebrate with some BBQ goodness and get all dirty while doing do.  He even invited Boomer along, so that he too could be part of the manly fun sure to be had, which was very thoughtful.

Talkin' it up on 'Thirsty Thursday.' Yeah yeah!
