Search On For Driver In Hit-And-Run That Injured Woman In Richmond Hill, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police released surveillance video Monday of a driver who struck and injured a 63-year-old woman in a hit-and-run accident Richmond Hill, Queens.

The incident was one of two hit-and-run accidents reported in Queens on Sunday. A suspect has been arrested and charged in the second incident, which left a woman dead.

Around 8:40 a.m. Sunday, a driver struck the 63-year-old woman at 89th Avenue and 120th Street in Queens, and sped off east on 89th Avenue, police said.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Center, where she was reported in serious condition.

Police released a surveillance photo and video of the vehicle involved, which was described as a 2013-2015 dark gray Nissan Pathfinder sport-utility vehicle.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.

The second hit-and-run happened at 76th Street and Woodside Avenue in Elmhurst, Queens, around 8:35 p.m. Sunday, police said.

A 27-year-old man was driving a Mitsubishi box truck south on 76th Street, and was making a left turn onto Woodside Avenue when he struck the woman as she crossed Woodside Avenue in the crosswalk, police said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver sped off, but was apprehended at 73rd Street and 41st Avenue, police said.

Valentine Gonzalez of Queens was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and driving without a license.
