2 Charged In Teen Girl's Apparent Drug-Related Death In Edison, N.J.

EDISON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Two suspects were charged Tuesday in the apparent drug-related death of a 17-year-old girl in Edison, New Jersey.

William A. King, 22, of Edison, and Andrew A. Lindo, 22, of Somerset, were charged in the death of Rose Carlin of Woodbridge, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office. They were each charged with endangering the welfare of a child, hindering apprehension, and tampering with physical evidence, prosecutors said.

Bail for both defendants was set at $75,000, prosecutors said.

Around 4:30 p.m. Monday, police were called to the Hilton Garden Inn at the Raritan Center in Edison, where they found Carlin's body. She was pronounced dead 11 minutes later, prosecutors said.

An investigation has determined that the death is likely drug-related, but the exact cause was pending an autopsy from the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's office.

The investigation into Carlin's death continued Tuesday night. Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Michael S. Michalski of the Edison Police Department at (732) 248-7400, or Detective Gregory Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office, at (732) 745-4054.
