2/27 CBS2 Friday Evening & Weekend Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening!

We're in for another cold night to kick off the weekend. Temps will drop into the single digits for most, with even some subzero lows far north and west in places like Monticello. Expect a low of 12° in the city, under mostly clear skies. With a northwest wind at 5-10 mph, it'll feel more like the singles at times in the city and below zero for some of the suburbs.

Plenty of sunshine for your Saturday, but it stays cold... going for a high of just 29 in the city, much like today.

Sunday will be dry for the most part, but we'll see increasing clouds through the day. Some light snow arrives around the dinner hour, changing to a mix/rain overnight. It should move out fairly quickly, ending as some rain in the city during the morning commute Monday. As of right now, an early call would be 2-4" north and west, with totals closer to 1-2" for the city, prior to any changeover. It'll need watching as we get closer.

The rest of Monday we'll see some clearing, with highs in the low 40s.
