NYPD, ASPCA Rescue 10 Yorkshire Terrier Puppies From 'Filthy' SoHo Apartment
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two people have been arrested after the NYPD and ASPCA rescued 10 Yorkshire Terrier puppies from a Lower Manhattan apartment.
Police first responded to the apartment on Spring Street in Soho on Feb. 18 after receiving a complaint.
An officer saw the puppies were being kept in unsafe and filthy conditions, police said.
After being granted a search warrant, officers with the First Precinct and the ASPCA went back and removed the puppies from the apartment, police said.
The puppies were taken to an ASPCA facility, where they are receiving medical care.
A man and a woman were arrested on animal cruelty charges.
