Police Swarm East River After Woman Goes Overboard

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Multiple first responders were on the scene in the East River Friday evening, after a woman went overboard.

The NYPD Special Operations Unit tweeted that officers from two precincts in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn area were on the scene, along with the Aviation, Emergency Service, Scuba, and Air-Sea-Rescue units.

Divers were in the water, the Special Operations Unit said.

The woman apparently plunged from a pier. Further details were not available late Friday.
