2/28 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Afternoon!

Another cold afternoon ahead, with a high of 28 in the city. Despite the chilly temps, we'll see plenty of sunshine. Clouds will be on the increase tonight, with lows in the upper teens to lower 20s.

Our next winter storm arrives tomorrow. Sunday starts off dry, but snow will arrive during the afternoon hours. As some warm air moves in from the south, this will change to a mix/rain overnight, moving out pretty quickly Monday morning. Unfortunately, the Monday AM commute looks like another messy one.

Expect a general 1-3" through the city and points east and west, with lesser amounts south where the changeover occurs early. The highest amounts will be to the north, where it remains mostly snow... 3-6" here. There are some icing concerns early Monday, with up to 0.10" of ice accretion possible around the city.

The remainder of Monday will feature gradual clearing, but it will be breezy. Highs will top out in upper 30s to lower 40s. The next round of precip looks to be Tuesday night through Wednesday. The good news? While it may mix with some snow to start, Wednesday will be a mild rain with a high of 49. The last time we saw a temp that high in the city... December 28th!

Thursday clears out under partly sunny skies. Temps drop back into the 30s.
