3/3 CBS2 Tuesday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening, all.

Snow is falling over most of us, but soon we will make a switch over to sleet and rain.  A milder south wind will start to swarm over the city and Long Island.  However, the NW mountainous area of New Jersey is holding onto snow longer so they will have greater totals and less ice.

Overnight, the storm shuts down intermittently. The air warms and visibility will be lowered. So low in fact, that visibility will be near zero when waking up.

Tomorrow is a much better day. Temps rise into the 40s with on-and-off rain.  The rain will be steadier south of NYC, while the Hudson Valley is mostly cloudy.

As the front elongates and sags south, cold air fills behind and we now have another snow risk.

Thursday's storm looks to have more of a punch. Potentially up to 8" around interior sections of southern NJ.  Check back in soon for the latest.
