NTSB To Interview Crew Of Delta Jet That Skidded Off LaGuardia Runway

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Federal investigators plan to begin interviews Saturday with the crew of the Delta Airlines jet that skidded off the runway at LaGuardia Airport this week.

On Friday, investigators downloaded the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorders as they investigate the accident that left six passengers with minor injuries.

Delta said that all of the passengers received full refunds, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

Aviation experts said the investigators will look into a number of items that could have caused the incident, including weather, bad approach to the runway, and mechanical problems.

Meanwhile, some of the members of the elite team of first responders who helped evacuate Flight 1086 spoke out on Friday about their experience.

The Port Authority Aircraft Rescue Firefighting team is the most unique in the nation and includes cops trained as firefighters qualified to respond to aircraft disasters.

"I had an infant, made sure they got back to their parents safely.  At that time I thought about my children," ARFF member Brian Parker said.

All passengers were evacuated, 127 men, women and children. Some slid down the wing while others climbed out the rear. All found helping hands from ARFF team members.

The National Transportation Safety Board is expected to released details from the recorders on Monday.
