Reports: Chris Johnson, Former Jets Running Back, Wounded In Drive-By Shooting

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Former Jets running back Chris Johnson was wounded in the arm in a drive-by shooting Sunday morning in his hometown of Orlando, Florida, according to reports.

The three-time Pro Bowler is hospitalized in stable condition, ESPN reported. But the driver of the Jeep carrying Johnson was killed, and another man was also wounded, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

The deceased driver has been indentified as Dreekins Oriko Johnson, 28, according to reports. The other passenger who was shot was Reggie Johnson, 29. He was also reportedly in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.

It is unclear how they might be related to the NFL star.

In January, Chris Johnson was arrested and charged in Orlando with openly carrying a firearm.

Chris Johnson, 29, was drafted in 2008 by the Tennessee Titans and had six consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons there. He is one of only seven running backs in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season.

The Jets signed him to a two-year, $8 million contract last year, but declined last month to pay him an option bonus, making him a free agent.

In his only season in New York, he rushed for 663 yards
