Poll Shows Connecticut Gov. Malloy's Approval Slipping Among Key Groups

CONNECTICUT (CBSNewYork) — Victorious in his re-election just a few months ago, a new Quinnipiac Poll shows support for Gov. Dannel Malloy weakening, even among members of his own party.

Poll director Doug Schwartz said what's surprising, however, is the governor's waning support among Connecticut Democrats.

Poll Shows Connecticut Gov. Malloy's Approval Slipping Among Key Groups

"You know that a Democrat is in trouble when only 64 percent of Democrats approve of the job the Democratic governor is doing," said Schwartz.

Schwartz added the latest poll reflects Malloy's support dipping among key groups: women and young voters.

Schwartz said it's the first time in three years that numbers have shown the governor in negative territory.
