3/18 CBS2 Wednesday Evening Weather Headlines
By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Good evening, all.
It's a chilly, sunny one out there today. The winds are still kicking around from time to time, but a Wind Advisory is in place on eastern Long Island until 8 p.m. for gusts over 40 mph. They were way worse last night. We experienced widespread gusts near 60 mph. Winds will back off tomorrow and temps will rise into the mid-40s.
Friday doesn't look as nice. We have a minor low pressure system keyed for the tri-sate. A few wet inches mixed in with rain are a likely outcome as of now. Snow looks to hit us by mid-morning and stick with us through the evening. Nothing we cannot handle, but it is a slap in face of the Spring Equinox.
Spring begins Friday at 6:45 p.m. and it won't feel like it. Saturday is looking a lot better with the low wrapping up and heading out to sea leaving sun in its wake. Expect a better Saturday evening than morning.
Check back in soon for the latest.
