MONTICELLO, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- An AMBER Alert in upstate New York that was issued for four young children after police said they were abducted by a couple who had lost custody of the kids has been canceled.

New York State police said the children were found safe on Thursday. No other details were provided.

The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office activated the alert late Wednesday night after police said the two girls and two boys, ranging in age from 6 months to 5 years, were abducted around 6 p.m. from a home in Monticello.
