Police: Assailant Slashed Man In Face On C Train In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A male in his early 20s is being investigated for three slashings that took place on a C Train in Brooklyn.

Around 6:15 p.m. Monday, the 19-year-old victim was sitting on an outbound C Train near the Utica Avenue station in Bedford-Stuyvesant, when the suspect walked up to him for no apparent reason and slashed him on the right side of the face, police said.

The suspect then hopped of the train, police said.

The victim was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was treated and released, police said.

Police are also investigating his involvement in two other reported slashings.

A female was also slashed on March 17 aboard an A train at Euclid Avenue. She fell asleep when a male approached her and said "I don't like you," before slashing her.

Police said another female victim was attacked while on a C train. The date of that incident is unknown.

The suspect was described as a dark-skinned male in his early 20s, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall. Police have released a surveillance image.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
