3/21 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Afternoon!

Happy first full day of spring! Our winter storm from yesterday and early this morning has moved off the coast, and we'll be seeing some breaks of sunshine this afternoon as skies continue to gradually clear. Much of the region picked up a general 3-6", with Central Park coming in at 4.5". Going for a high of 48 today, but many locations will likely pop into the low 50s as you head south of the city.

A cold front moves through this evening. Not much moisture associated with it, but looks like it may drop a few sprinkles or rain showers around the area as it approaches. Lows dip to the freezing mark tonight in the city, 20s in the suburbs with skies becoming mostly clear. Winds do pick up however, out of the NW at 10-15 mph.

Expect mostly sunny skies for the second half of the weekend, but it'll be chilly with highs struggling to reach 40 tomorrow. The week ahead then starts out with below normal temps, but plenty of sunshine.  The good news is temps look to near the 60 mark by Thursday, although that will be accompanied by our next chance of rain.
