3 Up And 3 Down: Who's Hot And Who's Not In New York Sports

Taking a look at who's hot and who's not on the local sports landscape:

THREE UP:

1. Red-Hot Rangers

They've won eight of their last 10 games, picking up points in nine of them. As a result, the Blueshirts sit atop the entire NHL with 99 points. (Montreal and Anaheim do as well, but both teams have played more games.) Their latest feat? Beating the Ducks 7-2 at MSG. The Rangers are at home against the Kings -- the team they lost to in the Stanley Cup Final last season -- on Tuesday night.

2. Mets Ace Matt Harvey

He pitched 5 2/3 innings of shutout baseball against the Yankees on Sunday, as the Mets won 6-0. More often than not this spring, he's looked very sharp. Harvey won't pitch on opening day or in the home opener, but he's still the weapon of choice in Flushing.

3. Nets

It was a tough loss to Boston on Monday night, but they've still won four of six and are just outside the playoff picture. It won't be easy, but they've got a shot here.

THREE DOWN:

1. Ice-Cold Rick Nash

Impressively, the Rangers have gone on this streak despite their best scorer putting up just one point (an assist) in his last six games. He hasn't been his usual dominant self lately. I doubt it'll be long before he snaps out of that funk.

2. Yankees Starter CC Sabathia

Sabathia has made two starts this spring, and neither of them have gone well. On Sunday against the Mets, he gave up five hits and four earned runs in 2 2/3 innings.

3. Knicks

The Knicks lost for the 57th time this season on Monday night. Also, water is wet.
