Police: Spring Valley Man Bites Off Piece Of Another Man's Ear During Fight
NEW CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Spring Valley man is accused of biting off a piece of another man's ear during a fight, police said.
The incident occurred on Dolphin Road in New City around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
The victim told officers 34-year-old Eddy Bethancourth bit off a piece of his right ear during a fight before fleeing the scene, police said. The victim and Bethancourth knew each other.
The victim, 33, of West Haverstraw was taken to Nyack Hospital.
Bethancourth was arrested at his home in Spring Valley.
He is charged with first-degree assault and is being held on $25,000 bail.
Bethancourth is due back in court on Monday.
