Police Take Son Into Custody In Killing Of Congers Man

CONGERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A man is in police custody after his father was found apparently bludgeoned to death in his Congers home Monday morning, police said.

A neighbor called police around 5:37 a.m. after someone from the Ohio Avenue house ran over calling for help, police said. When officers arrived, they found Ismael Alicea, 61, unresponsive inside a bedroom. Paramedics pronounced him dead at 5:58.

The Rockland County medical examiner's initial investigation found that Alicea died from injuries caused by bludgeoning.
