Brett Gardner Out Of Yankees' Lineup Again With Bruised Right Wrist

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CBSNewYork/AP) — New York Yankees left fielder Brett Gardner remains out of the lineup due to a bruised right wrist.

Gardner was not on the posted lineup outside the Yankees' clubhouse for Friday night's game against Tampa Bay.

"Our hope is that we'll get him (back on Friday)," manager Joe Girardi told WFAN's Mike Francesa on Thursday. "I'm not so sure. … I don't think it's a DL, but could it be another day? Sure, it could. We'll just have to wait and see."

Gardner was hit by a pitch Monday and left the game midway through New York's win over Baltimore. He had an MRI on Thursday, and the Yankees announced he sustained a bruise.
