It was announced Saturday night, prior to Game 2 between the Penguins and the Islanders, that John Amirante's rendition of the national anthem would be his last at MSG. Later, the team said his golden pipes would be back from time to time as a guest.
Based on the fact he has been singing our nation's anthem at the Garden for 35 years, the news was not received well by fans of the Blueshirts. Boomer and Craig took a few minutes Monday morning to offer up their take on the development, all the while praising Amirante's fantastic run.
