Monday's Open

How 'bout them Mets?

Boomer and Craig were all over the 10-3 first-place Amazin's - who have won eight in a row and not yet lost at Citi Field -- to start Monday's program.

The fast start has not come with out misfortune though, as Travis d'Arnaud (hand) and Jerry Blevins (forearm) had their names added to the team's long list of injuries during Sunday's 7-6 win over the Marlins.  'Next man up' is the phrase Boomer could be heard muttering.  The Blonde Bomber could also be heard talking about how proud he was feeling after a great weekend of sports for Long Island, citing the aforementioned Mets, as well as the Islanders, who won an exciting overtime contest over the Capitals to take a 2-1 series lead.

Not to be lost in the shuffle, Alex Rodriguez is tearing it up for the Yanks, which makes Craigie happy.  Boomer on the other hand isn't ready to hurl praise in the direction of A-Rod just yet.  Craig suspects Boomer's negativity has little to do with the much-maligned slugger and his checkered past, and more to do with the fact that his beloved Rangers had their first-round series with the Penguins knotted at one game apiece after dropping Game 2 Saturday night at the Garden.

And there you have it.

It's Monday -- now start acting like it...
