Mets Top Prospect Noah Syndergaard Gets Into It With Fan On Twitter

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mets top prospect Noah Syndergaard was scheduled to start for Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday night, but he was scratched due to an illness.

On Thursday night, after it was revealed that the 22-year-old would miss his start, he received some criticism on Twitter.

He didn't take it well, and responded.

User @Mets24seven has since deleted his account.

This wasn't the first time that Syndergaard turned some heads on Twitter.

Syndergaard is expected to make his major league debut this summer. In two starts for Las Vegas this season, the right-hander has allowed four earned runs on nine hits -- including a homer -- in 7 2/3 innings pitched. He's walked six and struck out seven.

The Mets are playing the Yankees in the Bronx in the first game of the Subway Series on Friday night.
