Potholes Plague Cold Spring Harbor Roadway

COLD SPRING HARBOR, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - In Cold Spring Harbor, one roadway is riddled with potholes.

One resident described driving on Harbor Road like driving on craters on the moon.

Most drivers on the roadway, also known as State Route 108, won't even go the posted 45 mph speed limit-- they go much slower because there are so many potholes to avoid.

As WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported, once you turn off the 1.5-mile stretch, motorists are shocked they haven't gotten a flat tire.

The roadway is also popular for bicycle riders.

The state Department of Transportation said by the end of this year this road will be repaved.
