Cops Seek Suspect In Williamsburg Sexual Assault

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching a man wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Brooklyn.

According to police, the suspect followed a 27-year-old woman into her Williamsburg apartment building April 18. He pressed the elevator button while the victim checked her mail, investigators said.

Being cautious, the woman waited for the suspect to get on the elevator. When he did and she did not, the man exited the elevator and began to strike up a conversation with the woman, police said.

The victim then walked out of the building, and the suspect followed her, grabbed her buttocks and then fled the scene, cops said.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspect. He is described as a balding light-skinned man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds.
