WATCH: Ovechkin Taunts Lundqvist With 'All Series Baby' Remark After Goal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin got the scoring started in Game 1 of the series between the Caps and Rangers on Thursday night when he shot a laser past Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist in the first period.

Shortly after giving his team the lead, the superstar winger skated behind Lundqvist's net and microphones caught him saying, "All series baby, all series."

The goal was Ovechkin's third of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

HARTNETT: SORRY RANGERS FANS, BUT OVECHKIN-MESSIER COMPARISON IS DEAD-ON 

The Rangers tied the game on a late third-period goal by Jesper Fast, but Capitals winger Joel Ward stunned the Madison Square Garden crowed when he scored in the final second to give the Caps a 1-0 series lead.

Game 2 of the second-round series is set for Saturday at MSG. The puck will drop at 12:30 p.m.
